Indoor car storage/parking

Good afternoon i have recenlty came up with the idea of an indoor car storage facility, i know this is nothing new as there are currently other major storage companies offering this but was thinking i could also offer long/short term cruise parking as i live near a busy cruise terminal.

It would offer 24 hour accessibility and beeing indoors would mean that the cars are protected from the elements and birds (we all know why that is) which would surely give people peace of mind that their cars are are not exposed as they would be with say an open car park?

Maybe be a good idea or maybe not just throught id put it out there see what people opinions are? Any advise or criticism welcome and thank you for taking the time to read this.

At risk of stating the obvious, it's a good idea if you can make it pay

What costs have you factored in?

Tbh if you have suitable premises with easy access there should be mileage in it

Sounds like an excellent idea!

How are you going to make people aware that you have this facility available? Have you considered approaching the cruise companies and seeing whether they might be interested in doing something jointly with you?

I agree with the above, if you have the facilities, then flesh out the detail of the plan. The most importnat part is making sure your marketing will bring in teh customers.

Good dea if you have the premises as already said.

Or they could park in the 'normal' place and put a £35 car cover over the car..........throw it away after they return.

Add in valet / detail / service and it might make it more desirable/profitable...

You will need to work out costs here. That size unit will cost a small fortune in rates and rental alone. Don't forget to factor maintenance/cctv/insurance costs as well.

Costly to set up - but does have mileage in.....especially if you can guarantee the car stays put and doesn't get ragged off elsewhere like many do.
