Importing goods from Taiwan

Hello there,

I am thinking of setting up my own business, one of the items I will be selling are USB flash drives. I will be importing these in from a factory in Taiwan and I just wanted to make sure I had all the sums added up before I place any orders.

As I understand there is the cost of the product, door to door delivery by EMS, transaction fees and the cost of Tax. I was hoping someone could tell me or point me in the right direction into finding out what tax charges I will incur. Also If I have missed any thing else that I could be charged for please let me know.

I have no experience in this field sorry, but I would advise you go onto the Business Link and HMRC websites to look for the info you need

Thanks for your post, I did manage to find that the commodity code for the item in question is 8542326900, which is exempt from import duty. So that helped answer part of my question thank you very much.

Maybe I can give you some advise,IT products in Taiwan and China guangdong has a lot of manufacturers.If you want to import these products pls cfm the tax in yourside.According to your imports is used to decide what kind of transportation,express?LCL ,airtrans? and so on
