Importing goods from Malaysia to the UK

Hi all,

does anyone have any experience of importing goods from Malaysia? I'm trying to determine the rates of sales tax (looks like 10%) and any 'export duty' charge by Malaysian Customs and Excise.

I have looked at China, nothing wrong with the goods but I can get a better price in Malaysia.

Hi thanks for the replies.

It appears that the 10% sales tax applies to domestic sales only an there are no export duties (at that side, obviously plenty of import duties at the UK side).

Most Malaysia companies import from China and then export to other countries...I think the price will be much lower if you sourcing from China directly..

Yes it is true that Most of Malaysian companies are import from china. Why you directly import form china? Although i am a UK citizen but i preferred chines products.
