Importing chocolate from Russia

Hi all,

I am starting a business importing chocolate from Russia for specialised sales here in the UK. We have exclusive partnership contracts already agreed with the manufacturers but they cant really deal with the import side of things.

Need help with a few things here, we have an LTD company already set up here but would need to add importing to its business descriptions? any special government codes that we would need here? Perhaps a non LTD company would be better to use here?

- what does the UK require for certification as some of the ingredients animal based? Will it require approvals and stamps?

Your product will need to be meeting requirements to sell same as any other foodstuff. Packaging, ingredients, allergens etc.
And be safe for human consumption in the UK.

Your business type doesn't matter regarding the items, limited or not limited. Your business description would be something to do with retailing?
