Importing carton containing items with different trade tarriffs

Hi,

My order from India will contain items made of different metals.

Looking at the trade tariff site:
Stainless steel items shows a tariff of 8.5%
Other metal items shows a tariff of 4.7%

For UK customs, does my supplier need to show on the paperwork how much of each is inside the carton, or will I be charged at the higher rate for everything in the carton?

Your supplier will need to show each product and quantity.

They should also state the HS CODE for each of the different products.

When they give you the commodity codes check if they will also issue a GSP certificate as you can receive a reduction in Duty for some items from India if you have a GSP.

It is not a big issue, just show specific item, QTY, HS code, etc. It makes no difference if products are put in separate cartons or same carton.
