HOW TO WIN CHINESE CUSTOMERS

There are more than 1.1 million millionaires in China, and Chinese long haul tourists are the largest high spending consumer group the World has ever known.
The Chinese tourist market is formed of two sections. Those that buy tour packages, and those that travel independently. Until recently the latter were a small minority, but now numbers are growing fast, but more importantly they are big spenders and they have yet to establish hotels of choice in the UK.

Because there is such little awareness of hotel options among Chinese visitors it provides a chance to establish particular properties as hotels of choice for the long term by creating known ‘bases’ that are Chinese friendly.

So everyone is playing on a level field, and it is not difficult for hoteliers to quickly implement a strategy that reaches out to Chinese tourists, engage them effectively and then serve them in the way they want. And it does not have to involve a Mandarin speaking ability.
So, how to win Chinese customers, how to do business in China. It's a question.

How do you know it hasn't been done?

What research have you done to reach your conclusions?

Understanding Mandarin and more importantly all the cultural differences, are essential requirements to having any sort of successful cooperation with Chinese.

Yes, I agree with your point of view. Verbal communication and cultural differences really are barriers. But these can not stop the Chinese people travel to foreign countries, can not stop the other country exports something to China. and I am Chinese. I know Chinese people's habits and ways of thinking. This is exactly what I want to help people in other countries to better understand the Chinese market, understand the Chinese people's consumption behavior and habits.

So, i think the problem i'm facing is how to find the foreign traders, how to communicate better with them, how to know their habits better. I understand Chinese, understand the habits of the Chinese people, understand our own business. For example, i know where the Chinese traders gathered on the internet, i don't know where the other countries traders gathered. So, could you tell me how to integrate into circles of the other countries people. Some advice, please?

I have business colleagues / clients in Malaysia, Singapore and a couple of areas of China.

One thing which repeatedly comes up as important is the sequence of digits used in a business contact telephone number.

Two examples:
1) The number 8 is considered lucky - represents wealth (sounds similar to a word meaning to generate wealth)
2) The number 4 is considered unlucky - represents death (sounds similar to a word meaning death)

If you want a full list of sequences, please PM me.

Many thanks
Dave
