Hey...
I have this artifact supplying business... Wondering how can I turm my buyers into permanent customers?:|
Appreciate your help!

Give them a reason to come back. Offer discounts or vouchers for second purchases or money off when they spend a minimum amount.

Data capture their information so you can contact them about new products and services that might be of interest.

Hope this is helpful.

Pretty much what SB said.

Give them a reason to keep coming back. Make them feel special - when people feel like they're valued and wanted (often through the use of offers/discounts and so on), they'll keep coming back for more.

Perhaps grab emails and so on, through an opt-in form, and after their first initial purchase, send a follow-up email a few days/a week later.

Ask them how they like their new purchase, and stress how important they are, and how you'd like to reward them!

otherwise, you could start up a loyalty scheme (a reward card or something).

Just a few ideas.

If you're selling at bargain basement prices, then sure, discounts and giveaways, prize draws, tat stalls and balloons.

But, if you're going for a bit further up the food chain, then you need to have impeccable service. Great client communications where you set the expectations, then exceed in delivering and meeting them is crucial.

Stay in touch frequently. Communicate with them and give value - whether it's information, entertainment, pointers, new ideas, expanded horizons, or whatever you can do to WOW them - that's how you stay relevant.

However, keep in mind one simple rule. People buy from people they like. Some will put up with higher prices, slower turnaround time, a mis-speeled word in your website, etc. - if they like you.

I go out of my way to shop at the local butcher because they're fun and the meat is better than anyone else's. I drive 20 minutes out of the way to get Starbucks instead of Costa, because it tastes better. On occasion, I pay way to much for a computer because of the quality and support.

See the pattern? Quality, service, quality.

Hi...Thank You for your response. We deal in Bog Oak products? How do you feel about gifting something that is more than 5000 years old. It's an exotic and rare wood. Don't you think gifting something whose value increases with time will motivate?

In theory I could give someone a rock as a gift which would be over a billion years old. ;)

Hi Phoenix,

Offering loyalty cards is something that's done on the highstreet a lot, such as get a stamp every time you buy and collect stamps to get rewards. That's one of the main way companies keep customers loyal.

We are developing an online loyalty card system where it will be free for all retailers to sign up to and start their own digital loyalty program without any need for installing anything.

Just over deliver on service, and price if you have to, and give out the occasional freebie as appreciation for their custom. Customers are just people and people like to be valued and made to feel special. Look after your customers and they'll look after you.

Customer service is one of the things that you should focus on if you want to turn your customers into loyals and patrons.
