most degrees and therefore the letters after your name have been demeaned by the number of people taking degrees today. 30 yrs ago a degree meant a lot more than it does today.

For me, letters after your name are no better than passing a driving test- you have understood the theory and had a little play with little risk, but you have not proved yourself so, whilst noting the possible education, I tend to ignore them and switch of if someone tries to ram things down my throat, especially the "extras" like "fellowships" of this or that and the other organisations.

I have had a few accountants with letters after their name who were worse than useless, the same with surveyors and planning people.

So, by all means be proud of the education and use them if you wish, but don't believe for one minute it impresses anyone other than the most gullible - and parents ! :-)

Oh, so you are not impressed that someone who now has a qualification has managed to find this thread with an OP of two years ago?:D
