Hello

I am currently looking for a shop to rent (it will be bakery shop plus production on site) in Gloucestershire or around.

Would anyone recommend any websites where I can find some offers (apart from sites like righmove, primelocation, zoopla)
Do you think it's possible to find a private landlord or it has to be through agency?

Thanks
Joanna

Apart from the above, occasionally you will find some listed on Daltons Business and also covering your area is Central Business Agency might be worth a shot. Another alternative might be to just go around and ask some of the small independent shop keepers, if it is a popular area then it might not get listed on any website but by word of mouth, you might just get lucky that way.

To find really good quality properties I would take on a private commercial agent. All the big agencies will have them. They will work for you and go out and find a suitable property for you. You then pay them a commission. Usually about one months rent.
When a commercial property goes on the market. First it will go out to the private agents then if its not picked up it will go on to the open market. So by the time you see it on the open market it will have been passed over by a lot of people. Meanwhile all the good sites will have been snapped up.
Considering getting the right location is crucial to the success of your business I wouldn't scrimp here.
