How much have you made from UKBF?

Several people have made posts on these forums thanking other members for a great service, or thanked each other for business done. Also, I have received a large number of emails and PM's thanking me for running these forums because they make such a large amount of business from them.

I would like to try and put that into perspective for all to see, and even some potential new members who maybe do not take part yet. Please can you take part in the poll above to let others know how much business is being done on these forums.

Please be honest and realistic in your vote on the poll. Don't vote on the £100k plus option if you haven't really made sales of that value from these forums directly or indirectly.

As an employee I dont promote my "business" on here so have made no financial gain personally.

Well I've got a number of clients and referrals from UKBF over the last year. I will say it's in 4 figures

I have also personally referred over £50,000 worth of business to others, and spent over £3000 on UKBF members services.

I've literally just put the phone down to one member who we are looking to spend £200,000 with spread over the next 2 years.

I didn't join for the money side of things but more to chip in advice if I felt it would help. In doing so, I've earned a fair bit of money where I didn't expect it, made some good friends and sourced some really talented people who I intend to work with for the forseeable future.

We have also given a lot of advice and time out for free to try and help new businesses.

Most importantly in my eyes, I have gained some excellent contacts, received wonderful advice and hopefully helped others.

The best forum around for that alone.

Probably not much made because I only promote KashFlow here, not Key One, and KashFlow is relatively cheap. I must have spent over £10k with other members though.

I like to think that we have generated at least 10% of our business from networking and would suggest that it it at least 10k from UKBF but that is based on our clients sticking with us ongoing.

However i feel that the potential here is phenomenal as long as you are prepared to give as much as you take

The problem is with me is that because people don't necassarily contact me direct but rather go to my site to make a purchase then i can't say. I know it's sent traffic but haven't a clue if any of them have turned into sales.

Toon, why dont you always link to your site with a tracking code so that you can see what business has come from these and any other forums you use? For example the link in my signature uses the tracking code "ukbf".
Financially, my Quick Formations business has made about £2500 directly from these forums. In addition personally these forums have helped to raise the profile of my business and myself significantly in the media which indirectly may have earned me about an extra £5-10k.

I can see what traffic comes from here I just don't track it. I could also set up an affiliate link and then i know what sales come from here but ths would get very time consuming when I'm a member of a million forums. I guess should really do this and I will do once I have the time becase it's always good to know where sales come from. The only problem with that is I presume if the search engines pick up the links then anyone clicking on that link in the serps will send incorrect data or doesn't the search engines take note of what's after the ? on urls?

With KashFlow I record the referering URL to a cookie when someone visits the site for the first time. Then, when they register this info is stored against their account. This makes it easy to check what's working and what isn't.

As well as the referrng URL we also have promo codes specific to various marketting activities and we as people where they heard about us in the sign up process. They lie though. Apparently a few people heard about us from a TV advert!

The above data was easy to search on but it would take me longer to work out how much the referral work from the above we have had.


Not the biggest clients but all good work and they tend to implement the changes quickly.

Have found some very useful suppliers on here but as most of you seem to be married already, I don't think I've found many customers.

So, with everyone doing so much business with other members on here there is a lot of business being done then!
Using the middle of the road values in this poll I estimate that we are currently looking at around £165,000 worth of business done on these forums so far (based on current responses).

I have had lots of business from here, in fact, I get at least 2 enquiries a day now, sometimes just for advice and other times to actually carry out a collection.

Monetary value is in the 4 figures but lets face it, if I was making 5 figures out of it then someone would have to be a precarious situation ie a debt of at least 100k, now I wouldn't wish that on anyone, you know me being so nice!

Members have also helped me out a lot too with advice and newsletters (Jilly the Yeti) and also referred business to me (Duane, Alpha, Rob, Jacqui )

I tell everyone I meet about UKBF and how great it is, like one big happy family

I've spend IRO of £2K+ on various members products & services. Return spend, none but I did not expect to get much, if any.

Wow, this is an old thread. I guess I'm the opposite of you. I've spent about £30-40k in total with different suppliers from UKBF over the last couple of years.

When I first joined my business was worth zilch. But based largley on input from others here and sales to members and their glowing endorsements and referals - I've just negotitated to sell a minority stake to someone that values the business at just shy of £2m.

I have not been a member for more than a week and I have enjoyed the ride throughly ...
putting in numbers is a wrong idea , but yes I have already received a first project worth around 250 GBP - meager to start with but a business is a business .

What I am enjoying here is that it is fully about business - business ideas, business advice and business running operating opinions - not just the typical webmaster forums you find all around . This itself is worth more.

About £600 so far, but have made some brilliant contacts and found some fantastic potential suppliers - and considering I started off here thinking "oh that's a good way to get a few links to the site" I reckon UKBF has far exceeded my expectations.

The forum quickly becomes part of your life, doesn't it? I seem to learn something new every day here, and 'meet' such fabulous people on a daily basis (Sysops, Maria, Scott the hypnotist - to name just a few) - I'm thrilled that I found UKBF
