I think the title is the answer that I will get, but I thought I would give it a bash anyway.

I have created 2 new pages on my website.
1 I did just before Christmas and when looking on google through serps.com it was ranked:
26/12/15 - 206
30/12 - 227
3/1/15 - 196
5/1/15 - 221
8/1/15 - 210

I have just created another page and it has come in at 238 when checking google myself.

These are pages that I have quickly thrown together with the aim of seeing where they come in at - basically I am planning on taking on 2 or 3 new brokers this year in different areas and wanted to see if it would be quick and easy to get a page for them ranking well. Im sure I could make on page improvements to get them up a few pages without too much difficulty but we are still some way off.

I did think they would come in better than that, maybe page 10-13.

How long (and how much) will it take to get those pages on the first page? I realise that its down to competition etc but as a ball park? Is there a ball park?

About 24 hours if your choose the right page title.

Once Google has indexed the page unless something changes, ranking isn't going to move much. If you want to rank higher you need to change the page or get some inbound links from other pages or external sites.

    There could be a number of reasons for remaining so far off meeting 'user intent' for the search query.
    The on-page content is likely not meeting the requirements Google sets to show a good source of information for the search term. At least, you could say that your page isn't as good as 199+ other pages for the search term targeted. Additionally, the site might not show particular authority in a certain niche, and a lack of direct links to that page, and to the main domain from related sites would be holding the page back.
    There are also other factors such as site navigation, load speed, contextual and grammatical issues, advertisements, and so on.
    Then, of course, is the issue of keyword competition.

    There's really two dimensions here:

    First, improving your website (aka on page) and increasing the number of relevant (not just any) links to your site are tactics to help you increase your ranking on search.

    The time it actually takes those tactics to help you rank higher, (second) depends on the competition of your industry in search.

    In regards to the first point, start with the website as a whole, it's not just about improving that particular page. Getting a page optimised within an well structured website is key for both user experience and Google. I've recently spent 2 weeks for a new client working on their site architecture which has been changing as I learn more about their business and find low hanging fruit opportunities. Site structure is important.

    Ball park wise, if it's low competition then on the conservative side 1-2 months and as the competition goes up, how long is a piece of string :)

    Depends. Is your sitemap submitted in google webmasters? Is it quality content for your visitor and has about 1000 words at least? Have you promoted it in social networks? How old is your website ? It's hard to say as you see. One thing for sure, you have to provide your visitors with highest quality and gain google's trust.
