Hi there,

My name is Shed - thanks for your time.

In order to promote my Edinburgh run of shows and my book 'Ideas Man', I've taken a while to build a new satirical website that I hope you like:

www.GuantanamoEbay.com

It's taken a lot of work and I'm keen to spread it worldwide. Any ideas other than Facebook? (Unless you know someone who can build a Facebook App...)

Thanks in advance,

yours,

Shed

Just took a quick look - it's good, like the way if you click bid it takes you to your book on Amazon! Clever!
There are a few on here who know how to build Facebook stuff, just hang in there and they'll hop on eventually.

eBay have been quite good at protecting their trademark when people squat on it, I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to proove bad faith on this on as well.

Just a heads up, I do like the concept though!!

There is a legal defence of parody - though its problematic when the site is commercial as this is (ie promoting a book rather than parody for the sake of humour).

I like the site, its a kind of chuckle for a minute or two and then back to work type one. I think its the kind of site that people would send the URL to friends - viral marketing.

I like it tbh, and it is different, I'll give you that.

There is a lot of potential for content though, and I would explore this too.

Have you seen this thread on ukbf, which gives some great advice on how to gain more traffic.......
