Is there anyway I could get extra income from my website?
Yes, if you get shedloads of visitors every day. If you only get a handful then the answer is no.

How long has your website been in existence and what does your site render, it should be a factor to consider in a way. Patience tells it all, there is a likelihood of making more traffic if there is a high demand for what you got in the niche market.

Google adsense works, quite expensive depending...
Buy ads from forums, boards (member) and a few, that post relating to the product on your site.
And remember the more you blog on or about your site on different platforms, the more the number of times you get it on search engines, thus more traffic for you.

Good luck..

I beg to differ. There are several models that require a large number of visitors and monetise via affiliate links, contextual programs and the like. And I own some such sites. OTOH, there are sites that make huge amounts of money with hardly any visitors. I have sites like those too ;)

First, sheer quantity of visitors doesn't necessarily point to money. The "quality" of those visitors matters. Millions of college kids from the third world will likely earn you a lot less than a few thousand business leaders, decision makers and budget spenders from large organisations in the US and UK; professionals like lawyers or people on the verge of taking big spending decisions e.g. looking for a mortgage.

Models that don't require a large number of visitors are, for example, high PR sites that make money from text links - it doesn't matter if you don't get a visitor from one year to the next, you can still make a four figure sum every month from a decent PR6 homepage and a few PR5s (so go buy your site some PR ;)). Then there are sites that have built huge mailing lists. It doesn't matter again whether you get any traffic, advertisers could pay well to reach your 100K double-opt in subscribers every week. There are sites that sell digital products that get very little direct traffic but all the traffic they get is qualified traffic from affiliates who've done pretty much all the conversion and send visitors ready to complete the purchase. One such site I know makes in excess of $2K a month with less than 100 visitors.

There are plenty of others, I've examined some of them in this article I wrote.
