Holiday query

Hi, first time query so thanks for any help in advance.

We have a 40 hr week but more work in the summer than the winter an work slightly odd hours (evening working in the week). This means that we want to implement:

• a 46hr week for 6 months and 34hr week for 6months
• we also have a shortened day on friday (4 hours) with longer days the rest of the week because of the night work

In my head this would mean

• 6 months (summer) - Mon-Thu 10.5 hrs, Fri 4 hrs
• 6 months (winter) - Mon-Thu 7.5 hrs, Fri 4 hrs

The big problem i have is how holiday can be managed like this. It means that one day off has a different value at different times of the year and different days of the week! Any ideas on how to manage this going forward??

Calculate holiday in hours. Your bigger problem is pay. Assuming you pay an annual salary, what if someone works all winter then leaves?
