Hi, could anyone help clarify for me...

When calculating an employee's redundancy holiday pay entitlement, do I pay bank holidays that were during furlough (Good Friday and Easter Monday) on top of remaining holiday entitlement? I want to make sure I get it right! Thanks.

yes, the employee is on 24 days plus 8 bank holidays - but I suppose my question is would the bank holidays be counted as being taken during furlough or not? If not they get 2 more days holiday pay which is fine, I just want to get it right :)

What was the reasoning for topping up? When the furlough was confirmed was this in writing?
If it wasn't made clear in discussions with the worker at the time of furloughing I don't see how you can now claim it was a holiday day and not ordinary furlough. I'd certainly argue to be paid the BH in my leaving holiday payment if it was me

We topped them up as a goodwill gesture, this was in writing in the original furlough letter that they agreed to. The top up was not guaranteed other than for the month of April.
I really don't have a problem paying it if it's the correct thing to do, I'm just unsure! As it stands at the moment I will probably pay it because I can't find a definitive answer to tell me not to.
