Holding company info

Hi

Does a holding company protect the IP and trademark if one of the other companies has issues and runs into liquidation?

Also if the tradename is a well-known brand can it still carry on trading with the same director who also owns the holding company ?

A holding company will be an entity in its own right, put very simply it could for arguments sake hold equipment, IP etc etc and 'rent / charge' the use of items to other companies, if these other companies happen to go down they do not own the items held by the holding company so they are protected.
