help- i need to write a quote !!!!!

hi all
ive recently set up self employed (gardening etc)
for the past 10 months ive only done private gardens on a one off basis

but i had a request to give a quote to a housing association :?

i have never done a quote/tender before so im hopeing that someone will know where i can get some good free templates from so it looks professional and so i know the kind of layout expected ???

any help/advice appreciated thanks

i have already checked out business link but they only had some guidance notes more suited to large business 's submitting huge contracts /tenders .

this tender is for 12 months keeping about 8 properties grass cut / shrubs pruned and carpark clear of litter ...

please help i have to put it in the post tomorrow???? :?

Hi Squidgey,
Start off by writing what exactly you will do for the money, breaking it down into sections if applicable and being detailed but not waffling.
I don't know your market, but perhaps price each section separately then give a total at the bottom.

Start the quote with some waffle about thank you for your interest, and then some explanation about your companies expertise and qualification. Finish the quote with a please call with any questions and a "I'll follow up in 2 weeks" or similar... then follow the quote up.
Its also sometimes worth including copies of some testimonials (thank you letters).

I am assuming this is a quote and not a tender. There is also some guys on here for more qualified than me on writing great quotes, but if you want me to have a look before you send it out send me a PM.

You could use some free software like Quickbooks to manages all your estimates etc - the trial one is free and you can call them and register it to get it free forever.

I found it realy useful when I was starting up.

As a Quickbooks user for the past ten years I am aware that the Pro version facilitates customer quotes etc, but it cost £250.00 - £300.00 which is paid up front and refunded if you return the software within 30(?) days. However I've never heard of a free version of Quickbooks from Intuit, could you please elaborate.
