Heat Recovery Systems

Does anyone know anything about heat recovery systems? We are renovating a house and making it energy efficient, as part of that process we intend to install a heat recovery system. Are there any pluses or minuses re brand that we might consider. We have had quotes for apparently the same thing from 3 companies now and they vary in price for parts alone from £2000 to £ 3,400 ish including vat. While it is tempting to buy the cheapest, my husband thinks we may be missing something, though all looks similar except for the different brand. Could the cheaper one be ok? We desperately need to make some savings as we are already massively over budget.

Best bet for initial research is to get the manufacturer names of the respective equipment and google it for reviews.

This will give you a feel for quality / reliability / performance / servicing etc.
