Got a website blog page? Let's collaborate for FREE. Who's in?

Here's the win-win

We both have a website blog page, so let's exchange articles.

You write one for my site, I write one for yours completely free.

This way, we both get fresh content, reach each other's audiences and grow our visibility online. It's a simple swap that benefits us both without spending a dime. More eyes on our brands, more value for our readers.

Totally pointless. The whole guest blog post thing rarely works. Google certainly ignores it. And blog generally get very little traction so the traffic numbers will be tiny.

If you had suggested this 10 years ago the idea would have had some value but not any more.

So sorry that is totally incorrect, please delete your message as you are jeopardising potential collaborations.

The articles would include a do-follow backlink.

when done authentically, guest posting on relevant, quality sites can build your authority, bring referral traffic and provide valuable backlinks.

The key is that it should be genuinely valuable content on sites related to your niche.

This is true.

But exchanging blog posts with random sites via a forum is not done authentically, and they are unlikely to be relevant, quality sites.

You need high value sites in your market.

It is, which is why we charge for guest posts, accept only from relevant sources, and reject 9/10 requests.

That post was written in 2023. SEO has moved on since then.

This older article is a much better guide:

Guest blog if you want but don't expect any ranking benefit - or traffic for that matter.

Didn't @Ozzy mention that blog posts made a positive difference on this site in terms of search ranking?

Or is that now superseded by AI??
Blogging still works well. Guest Blogging less so. It only really well when sites and authors are authoritative.

For example a blog post written on a university site by an acclaimed researcher has value. A blog post about door security in Manchester less so.

Sorry again, you are incorrect. Topical authority within your niche is what matters. Academic articles about biotech have value within that niche, and also articles about hiking also have value within that niche.

Regardless of the niche, both have value and one doesn't have more authoritativeness than the other.

sorry honestly, you really need to research this topic further and delete all previous messages, as your lack of knowledge on this subject might persuade other business owners to align with your Incorrect narrative.

I've been researching this for years. It is part of a long running chain of techniques that began with links pages then reciprocal links, article syndication, article sites and now guest blogging.

The Penguin update addressed much of this and more recently CWV changed the whole emphasis on content v links.

They all work, unless they are abused.

Of course most people abuse them, and then wonder why they have issues.

@security_guard spamming forums looking for guest blogs won't work, you need to be looking at the top sites in security, which will depend on what type of security you want to write about.

This also means you need to get a professional writer to produce a blog post that is better than anything on their site, and ideally, the best article available anywhere, and to provide licensed images.

Swapping ChatGPT content with randoms won't work.

They do, and I get about 30-40 emails a day from people like the OP asking for blog exchanges and guest posts - and I delete every single one, and I will never, ever, agree to do it.

Exactly as @fisicx and @NickGrogan have said, blog posts can work when done as an organic, natural activity. If you link to another blog or article, do it because it fits with your content, not because someone else (the other site owner or their marketeer) asked you to.

The OP is using AI to write their posts that has been prompted to push link exchanges as a means to help SEO, but AI can tell you the sky is yellow with the right prompts.
