Google's verification postcard is not arriving

One month ago, I created a local business page on Google Local. I'm still waiting for the verification postcard to arrive. How long should it normally take? Is there some other way to verify my local business?

Hello again! You could ask for the card to be re-sent. I think Google's posting is patchy. Wiser heads on here may know.

Google introduced auto verify a few months ago, you just need a verifed webmaster tools account in the same account as your google my business page. Its only available for certain categories though and they didn't state which categories :/

If i remember rightly, it took about 2 or so months for mine to come... but this was about 4 years ago!

3-6 weeks was/is typical. Just re-order another if it doesn't turn up after 3 weeks.

I've tried to verify my business page in G+ with webmaster tools with no success. I can't find the option to do it. There is only one option "insert the code from the postcard we have sent to you".

Finally, the post card from Google has arrived! Can't wait to verify and edit my local listing...

Seen this has been resolved but just wanted to add that google can be contacted via telephone so they could verify where and when they sent out the post card.
