Google Adwords campaign

Hi,

We have decided to go with a gogle adwords campaign rather than SEO in the short term - mainly due to budget restrictions.

How effective would you say these campaigns are? I know obvisouly it deends on how you are running it but with the right keywords etc do they have a good roi? And do they tend to work for trades companies like ourselves? Anyne have experience of using such a campaign in this industry?

Any tips and pointers appreciated!

Cheers,
A

The success of the campaign all depends on a number of factors

  • How well it's written
  • The landing pages
  • how much time you have to dedicate to optimising
  • etc
A number of companies will tell about how bad PPC is for them, others with a well written campaign get huge returns on their investment.

here is a top tip. If you look up above this post you will see a link in Steves signature to things you should know about PPC.. KNOW THEM :D Download it and read it a couple of times.

PPC is about FAR more than getting the KW's right. You have to get the offer right, you have to re-enforce the offer on the landing page, and you have to make the whole buying proces well.

with alot of our work being emergency call out etc one of main aims is to just get people to the site so they get the number to call. I think with our market its just getting the calls up and then converting those, well for our bread and butter work. As a new company we are going to be growing our services and with that growing our content on the website and constantly adding to it. Main aim at the moment is to get our name out there, generate some cashflow and plough it back into the marketing & services

Depends on what happens AFTER the click - i.e. what they find when they get to your site.

Well in that case speak to Ali-v-8 about a Google Map listing as it seems a lot of your work will be local. Quickest, easiest and cheapest way to get referrals to your site and get your number in front of everyone before even having to visit your site.

Everything is done. Google is taking time registering a lot of changes now.

Feeling stupid as I already knew that as I'd read your other post...who'd be a hormonal woman eh?:D

Then adwords yes - two words for adwords Steve Gibson as already stated. Good Luck!
