Having a nightmare with google ads not showing many keywords just say eligible but not triggering but the one thats most annoying is ad eligible but still not showing and them not saying or knowing why this is any ideas how to resolve this?

When you hover your cursor over the 'eligible' message (to the right of the keyword) what does the pop-up box say?
Its says we dont know why you ads arent showing which isnt very helpful and there support keep playing dumb are refuse to help

Next step - at the bottom of the pop-up box you have a link to 'Ads preview and diagnosis'. Go there and see if you get any more info'. Make sure the options shown at the top of the screen (eg. 'country') are correct.

Get the same message for all the postcode locations are campaign is set to cover: "We don’t know why your ads aren’t showing for this search." which isnt very helpful as it they dont know im not sure how im supposed to!

There are a host of reasons why your eligible ads may not show but it's unusual for Google not to tell you why. On the other thread you started you say that you think it's because you're being outgunned by the 'big boys'. If that was the case you'd get a message telling you so (eg. 'below first page bid')

At the moment it's a mystery, but likely something to do with your campaign set-up or budget.
If you'd like to give me read-only access to your account I'll take a look for you.

Our website isnt a direct sales site it provides a list of our services and contact number and email etc so not online sales platform, what bid strategy would you suggest to ensure our keywords are targetting people in our selected postcode we cover? I keep getting told a different strategy from different agents who pick up our enquiries at google so wondered what you would recommend?

For your business, Cost-per-Click (CPC) is the most sensible strategy with manual bidding not automatic bidding (Maximise Clicks). And not on the display network.

I wouldn't pay too much attention to junior Google support people. They know little except how to advise you to spend more.

Personally, (and without knowing your business), I'd put most of my effort into organic local search - your use of the term 'postcode' suggests a limited geographic area. Make sure your website appears on Google Maps for searches for your services and your Google My Business Account is up-to-date and reflects well on your operation.

If you do local search well you might not need Google Ads at all!

I'd tend to use Google Ads more for a speciality than a general service. For example, 'Mercedes Bodywork Repairs' rather than just 'Car Repairs'. Combining that with organic local search could be a winner.

It might also be a billing issue, I've sometimes picked up that unknow errors could relate to billing.
