commadus ...... a lot of small business owners tend to either use the VERY helpful HMRC disc (which is free) or get somebody a bit more experienced to do it for them.

Try www.12pay.co.uk

It is so easy to use, there is a free version (or a premium version for £48 a year) and the support is absolutely fantastic, friendly, professional and super quick.

And no, I don't work for them, I just use the software and I am a massive fan of this company.

I use sage instant payroll, £99 and its a breeze, click a few buttons, print payslips and a couple of reports job done, I do mine and my wife has her own business so do hers as well, 10 minutes tops, then go onto hmrc online payments to pay the paye/nic contributions.

I don't know what kind of support Payroo offer, but if you do find payroll a nightmare then good support should be one of the priorities - someone to hold your hand for the first few months, while you get to grips with the software.

Also, as mentioned, a bit of training never hurt anyone ;)

If you really think that payroll is a nightmare why not get someone to do it for you instead of buying software?

There are plenty of people on here who would be pleased to help.

We offer payroll at £2.50 per payslip, give us a call if you need any help
