Forwarding Google Mail

I've setup our domain on Google apps and use the Google Mail app to handle our email - it's great and a good way to move forward .

Now that our host doesn't handle email, I've setup another address (info@ ....) on Google and I have gone to the forwarding/imap & pop settings tab to forward all emails from this address to my personal email address.

Is this the best way to forward emails?

Yeah, possibly. Or if you take one step back, use the server to catch all emails. <anything>@domain.com and it forwards them to you

There are a few ways of doing this. Adding a Nickname, Adding another Account, and Forwarding.

Adding a Nickname (Basically just forwarding - but doesn't cost you a user account)

If you login to the Google Apps for your Domain Control Panel, click Users & Groups, and then choose your account (or an account you wish to associate it with), you can from here add a "nickname" which acts like an email address, all mail sent to this name will go to your main account email address.

Adding another (external or email) Account

You can also add other e-mail accounts to be checked along with your gmail. (From any e-mail provider)

If you look in Settings > Accounts > "Get mail from other accounts"

Just fill this information in with Google POP settings and you'll have all the mail in one place.

The benefits to this over standard Forwarding is you can also send mail from this account should you wish, so you'll have the options of info@ or stefan@ to send with, without instead of having to login and out of each account first.

And of course Forwarding...

If you set-up an Account just for forwarding, you eat into your allowance of accounts, but this isn't really an issue here.
