For and Against using Cloudfare for SSL

I've got a personal site I'm messing with and, unfortunately, my host's SSL is rather expensive. What's the general opinion of using Cloudfare to produce that padlock that the browsers like?

We've found it to cause problems, so we don't use it, but you could try it and see. Just be sure to test things thoroughly afterwards.

Many hosts include Let's Encrypt SSL within the package. Explore the options as it may be simpler to find a host that offers this in the package.
