Fixed asset new venture

Hi All,

Recently had the idea of starting a company where i would validate and check assets on behalf of businesses. The services would be:
- Check that all assets that are on the asset register are on site and advise if different
- Tag assets when found

Has anyone had any experience in this field before and do they have any advice on the best way to get customers when starting out?

Also i would like to know peoples good and bad points about this venture?

Is any business already doing this and is there sufficient workload to be profitable?

Ashley I can only speak from my experiences within the commercial property sector when I awarded contacts for instance out to say an M&E Company they would complete their own asset register and tag all plant machinery. This would also go for cleaning companies, Security etc. etc.

So not sure if there is a big enough market / work for an independent service you really need to go out and test the market place.
