Firefox tip for testing websites (responsive)

I use FF to build my websites, and use a website to test the responsiveness of a website, but to my amazement, I found Firefox does this out of the box.

I did this by accident when typing a blog post but press CTRL + SHIFT + M and it will display a screen size adjuster.

Basically I can now test sites without having to upload to my server :D

Good spot. Very handy. I'm more of a chrome user but I use FF for FTP and testing.

nice, but I am a bit disappointed though, I pressed rotate expecting my web site to rotate and instead it rotated the dimensions, gutted I wanted to see my web site upside down without moving the monitor:D

I use FF along with Firebug, rainbow (shows me the hex code for colours), HTML Validator and screenshot pro.

Tried using Chrome as my development engine (firefox annoys me with the slowness) but it's just not as good as FF.

If you have the right graphics drive installed: CTRL+ALT+UP/DOWN/LEFT/RIGHT flips the display. Fun to play with but that's about it.

Problem with FF is it is way too good at interpreting bad HTML.

Great for users, bad for developers who might have typoed a tag or something.

Hence why I use html validator as it adds a warning triangle into the corner of the browser when there is an error ;)

It's not perfect and would never be able to be perfect but it's handy for a quick check of errors.

Apart from checking break points, simply resizing your browser is a bad habit to get into.
It's like using a wysiwyg editor - what it looks like in the browser/ device will be different to what the preview gives you.

Not only that but hardly anyone uses FF on a tablet/ phone so it'll still be out to an extent.

The only way to test if something works correctly is to test in the right browser or on the actual device.

I only have a 19" monitor, so its easier to turn the monitor upside down, but not as much fun.:D

Just for the record I can still do a handstand against the wall:p

Yes but for quick and dirty tests it's a great tip..
