I have had a couple of numbers calling me, 0800 0323911 & 0800 0131088, I have tried BT, and the links left above but to no avail, all I get is silence.

Any help in finding the companies responsible would be greatly appreciated

The first number is probably BT the second is NTL - but if the numbers have been moved (ported to another network) since Ofcom allocated them we can't tell without doing a formal request.

If you are being pestered by calls from those numbers BT can bar them.

An electrician has done a botched job on my premises and is now avoiding my calls. I have his name and number but silly me - no business name or address!
(he advertised in the Hampstead and Highgate local paper) - Any way of tracking down the business address. I want to take it legal?
His name is Nick and his number is 07737444513

That number belongs to Virgin Media, I suggest you give them a call and tell them you are being harassed by silent calls from that number.

I assume you've tried calling it?

It's owned by 02 - if it's a nuisance, call them and ask for their help.

Oftel records show that numbers starting 07541 2 are allocated to Telefonica O2 (UK) Limited. Note that due to number portability if an individual number has moved to a different operator this information is not publicly available.

Not without dealing with the telco who owns the number - 02 will have a department that deals just with nuisance calls; talk to them about it, they have policies on it.

I can probably tell you which telephone company 'owns' it - but I need to know what the number is :)

On the face of it that number range belongs to:

    8000 11 4 Allocated TelXL Ltd

Can't tell much more than that :-(

I run a B and B and recently had an unpleasant guest stay. He was a conman and was referred to me by the Vicar [who was going to pay the bill]. The American guy stayed, borrowed my phone, used my laptop and then whilst I was out, burgled the house and left. Not fun. However I do have some UK mobile phone numbers that I need to trace [but not call] and an email that I need to find out if it is active. Would some of you wizards be able to help - my police are too short staffed but it has all been reported. Thanks, Charlie.

After some help please after being conned in my B and B. The "American" man stayed for a few days having lost his wallet and being referred here by the vicar [who was going to pay the bill]. During his time here he borrowed my land-line to call 4 mobile numbers and used my laptop to report his theft to Fed Ex. I left the house on a job and when I returned, he had gone with my laptop, money, Jewellery and keys. I need to trace who he called and investigate his yahoo email address. Suggestions would be most welcome, the Police are "too busy". Thanks, Charlie.

    It's fast, cheap and legal.

All other methods have a problem with at least one of those.

I can tell you which telephone company owns the number so that you can raise a complaint to them, but I can't tell you the end user of the number. PM me if you don't want it in the public view.
