Does anybody else ever get really fed up and feel that their efforts are going to waste?

I seem to spend all my time, day and night, putting work into my business and quoting people prices for cars - yet no sale now for about 6 weeks - apart from a family sale that i did for nothing.

Really fed up with it now and looking for other avenues to sell down - struggling though.

Anyone else ever get fed up like this?? All i want is a regular sale!!

Hi,

Why not try campervans and Motorhomes. I've been looking for one and they are really expensive, all the cheeper one don't have a toilet. Maybe you could do a budget range (with toilets) and advertise on the net. Check out campervan sites, there is real money to be made. You can get a car anywhere, but campervan places are harder to find (hardly any in W.Yorkshire) and there is a big market of people wanting them. And, Yes I know what you mean about getting fed up, I am selling up to do something different, really want a change.

Best Wishes

I have to agree some of the time, but everyone gets down days. Have you tried Ebay as an avenue to sell the cars, very cheap to set up and a huge audience? You could set your reserves so you don't lose any money.

I also agree with Jayne, re. campervans, I want one, but can't find anyone that does a mid range, only jallopies waiting to be fixed or already finished cost a fortune type campervans. You could rent them out for festivals, as there is always a huge demand.

Anyway, enough of my rambling - keep your chin up, it will all work out.

Hi Simon,

I think that just about everybody on this forum has had periods like that. I had a brief spell where nothing happened for a couple of months and then business started looking up - I think it's something you just have to ride out - providing it doesn't go on for too long of course.

Cheers guys.

Words of encouragement appreciated.

It's just a bit gloomy at the moment as August/September is supposed to be the second busiest time of the year after March/April in the car industry. Scary!

Motorhomes - now there's an idea.

We are a broker so cannot but outright but we could trade off between dealers, find the cheapest price for each and then do some deliveries nationwide if need be.

Hi,

If you are married or have a friend, put the campervan part in their name, run it as a seperate business. Maybe some VAT benefit from this, ask others on forum.

Bye

Funny is'nt it that Aug is suppose to be the worst month for business, well I have experienced the opposite. I have taken on Liverpool FC and Konica Minolta, and Dalkia who are already a client coming back this month. I had a horrible time for the first 4 months of the year, I really thought about throwing it all in. Its tough and I'm still not sure, I will have to see how the next few months go. I agree the its the regular work thats needed, there is nothing worse than getting a big deal, then to realise all its doing is making up for the debt you got yourself in, in the previous 4 months.

I've had that. One month i sold that many cars that i always made my way to the local porsche place to order my own Boxster! Was a mega month - April.

But that money's kept me a float since then.

Shame really - i really quite fancied that Porsche!!
