I am both employed and self-employed, currently filling out my end of year self assessment.
As a PAYE employee I am in the 40% tax bracket so pay a fair amount of NI Contributions.
My self-employment is much smaller, with profits under the current £6,515 threshold for Class 2 NI Contributions.
Self-Assessment is asking if I'd like to pay the voluntary Class 2 NI Contributions.
My question is, do I need to pay the voluntary Class 2 Contributions if I'm already paying enough NI Contributions through my employment?
In order to qualify the year for state pension?
Thanks very much for any help.

Slightly off topic but do you know you can get a state pension forecast? Have a look here if it's of interest
