Email Marketing Pitfalls?

Can anyone recommend a good provider of B2B email lists. What is the going rate for good quality opt-in data, are there any pitfalls I should be aware of?

I want to start doing some email marketing, but can't decide whether it will be more cost effective to employ someone to build a database manually or take the short cut and buy the data.

All the best,

Nigel

Most lists are just scraped from search results and offer little in terms of added value.

You might want to rent ad space on a popular newsletter related to your business.

Best long term strategy is to design a newsletter sign up squeeze into your site design and build up your own.

We were well and truly stung on a supposedly tailored list purchased from one of the supposedly largest suppliers in the industry. It bombed completely and in the end we didn't pay for the data.

It takes time to build your own lists but it's much more effective, and you've got an audience who are already at least semi-interested in your product.

Hi,

We can surely offer best Email Lists with delivery rates above industry standards. Call us on 800-659-3542 to download a sample list.

You can even send a test email campaign to the sample list to check the delivery rates yourself!

If you have a database that lacks email addresses and you lack budget to but a new email list, we can add email ids to your current list at a very low cost.

Contact to discuss this further.

I am the Business Development Manager for an email marketing provider in the UK and my recommendation is that you don't buy email data. Firstly, the provider cannot guarantee the information within the list and secondly, and probably most importantly, if you buy a list you will struggle to find an email service provider that will allow you to use the list.

Our company policy is that we do not allow any purchased, rented or harvested lists on our systems and this purely to protect all of the customers that currently use our system and have taken the time to generate their mailing lists themselves through the proper channels.

If you would like any further information or guidance on this subject, please feel free to contact me.

hey,

what kind of products/services are you trying to reach b2b customers with?

it may make more sense for you to advertise in an industry publication, have you looked into that?

Hi Nigel.

I presume from the name of your company and from a quick look at your website that you're interested in contacting marketing and/or Telecoms DM's in SME's. We specialise in Telecoms Data, primarily Mobiles and Landlines solutions. I'm sure a vast amount of our data sets should be of interest to you. If you're still interested in an targeted e-mail campaign may I suggest you give me a call on 0843 2892786 and I'll be happy to run through some options with you.

Kind regards,

Peter
