Dropship companies Good or Bad

Pretty impossible to answer that question - it's like asking 'new business - will it make money?'

There are good and bad companies, some sectors more profitable than others.

Research is your best tool - talk to dropshippers, read through forums, get testimonials etc. Do your groundwork.

I've used dropshippers in the UK and US and overall it is viable to make money - not alot of money but if you find a product thats right for you and get your operation set up to be efficient then it can be a nice sideline.

Cheers, the question I would like answered is what ones are there that you can trust, that people on here have tried, I have searched quiet a few but they all seem either overpriced for their product on the whole site looks a bit cheap.

I know I can sell and market the site, but need to find a decent dropship company.

Can anybody PM me any decent sites.

It's a fact that the majority of the time, profit margins are pretty low when using dropshippers. I found the trick was once you were established was to stock your best selling items yourself as wholesale is cheaper, though then there is risk of being left with stock, time when it comes to packing things up and waiting at the post office, so don't discount dropshippers because prices seem too high.

Take a look around the "Dropship Forum" and get an idea and you can ask expireanced members these questions, though I warn you now that no one is going to tell you thier best suppliers - who needs the competition?

And as for crappy looking sites...
There are plenty of scam artists who will take your money and run who have the most modern, flashy, impresive sites, doesn't count for anything trust me.

And lastly,
Remember dropshipping is just a name for holding stock (or not) when your in business it is retail, a very hard indestry to break into and survive in, and just because online sales are on the increase each year, so is the amount of new online shops opening (and closing) each day.

The saying "you get out, what you put in" is definatly true, just don't think opening an online shop, updating products for an hour each day is going to make your site a success as in the beginning you have to put a hell of a lot of hours in to even see the smallest of returns.

And if that hasn't put you off (hope not) then...

Best of luck

Thanks for all the advice so far, I have looked at some of the sites on here for drop shipping, they offer free setup, but hosting is around £7.95 a month.

Is this the normally fees, and can you cancel with the Web providers at any time, i.e. if your not making any money.

Has anybody got any good drop shipping sites (uk based) I can look at.

And finally what happens if the product you have sold via drop shipping goes wrong and the customer wants a refund, who job is it to refund the customers.

I think "UK Dropship group" offer a fully functional website that is pre loaded with stock for around £15 then £7.95 a month hosting, but if you pay the hosting a year in advance then you get it half price which is a good deal. Not sure if you are tied into a 1 year contract or not, you would need to look at thier terms and conditions.

As for refunds it depends on on your supplier. Remember you shall be dealing business-to-business when it comes to buying your stock, this means although you must stick to the DSRs (Distance Sellling Regulations) when selling to your customers, your suppliers don't.

So best to ask which ever suppler you intend to go with.

Also make sure you do your research as to be fair your not coming accross as someone that has, and don't extect to make any real money in the first year or two.

I started a small photography business about 3 years ago as a sideline, and it took best part of around a year to start getting a good supply of hits generated by web marketing, so i am prepared for a slow snail pace start, just need the right product or you have now chance of selling anything.

And does anybody make a profit using dropship

Some of our MMA affiliates do but it takes an understanding of what running a drop ship business actually is.

Too many people think that just by owning a shop that uses a drop shipper the money will start flooding in.

Those that are making a success of it put time and effort into marketing their shop and ensuring we as the drop shippers stay on the ball as far as product catalogue accuracy and order fulfillment goes.

My experience of dropshipping is that if you want to make some real money then go directly to the manufacturers.

I find with dropshipping, especially when done online, there are too many people selling the same products as you, all competing, making your margins tiny.
