Alan Parker was working at an ad agency called PKL.

I was working out of a studio with several other photographers when we made a move to bigger premises in Victoria. Our moving in party was memorable. One of the photographers was going out with a dancer at the Royal Ballet while another's girlfriend was one of Pan's People a popular TV dance group. They bought their friends and the dancing became a bit wild.
I noticed Alan being a bit morose in a corner and he told me he had just been fired that day from PKL. He was almost crying in his beer. He said that he didn't think he would get another chance to be so creative again.
