I have unjustly had the following post regarding my honesty posted on another forum.

just a bit of advice Impressive creations are the same as flexcment, they work with the Turks & they are not to be trusted, you can ask many people in the UK, HOW THEY HAVE BEEN RIPPED OF BY THESE COMPANYS, I would stay well clear of anything to do with flexcment in Turkey or any associated companys. be warned,

I would like it to be known that I have built a good reputation after 25yrs in building and I have never at any time ripped off or overcharged anybody, this could certainly affect my new additional business.

Any advise would be welcome, is it possible the forum could be liable for printing this article, I am fuming about this

Having posted this on UKBF the problem you now have is that if I Google your company name this thread which says you are not to be trusted comes up on Page 1!

I could not find on the first 3 pages of Google (got bored after that) any other reference to any complaints about you.

It's really expensive to show libel - unless you have deep pockets it's not likely to be worth it.

If you can, create a login to the original forum, identify yourself as the owner and ask for clarification as to their issue. Even if they do not reply, at least you show you have responded.

If they do reply, they me be unreasonable or plain wrong. Keep any replies polite and business like - if they are unreasonable, most readers will see this very quickly. You may even get some other happy customers coming to your aid.

One could turn that around and use UKBF to defend the accusations.

i've seen this technique work well a few times, you still might get someone try to badmouth you with little reason but as long as you stick to the facts & don't get personal, you should be ok. from a customer POV, it's always good to see how a company deals with bad press 'issues'.

also, from what Earl said, if this thread is already showing on google, that's got to be a positive anyway hasn't it? you're already seeking advice about defending yourself against false claims.

Yes, it can be expensive to go to court but if you show you're prepared to stand up for yourself, and are prepared if necessary to make it expensive for the other party, then you can often get the offending material removed.

...... if the other side thinks you will stop at nothing, even if it means mortgaging the mother-in-law and selling the cat for dog food, they are much more likely to pay attention!

Listen to Philip, good advice. We sold the mother-in-law for dog food and bought a cat... :)

Forget about it, the interweb is full of cr@p like this. You gain and you lose by doing business in the open - by making a public fuss you just exacerbate it, better to laugh at them and get on with business.

Impressive Creations:"I have unjustly had the following post regarding my honesty posted on another forum".

All you needed was to ask me to remove it. Its gone from my forum but you posted it on here

What do you want me to do this this post you put on:
Impressive Creations wrote: As well as copying flex-c-ment products they will be copying flexcement stamps as well. because Rebecca Green bought them from myself thinking that I didn't know. PICS have given free samples to several of the contractors which I supply, and after using PICS cement based products they say I have no worries These contractors are the among the largest drivelayers in the UK who would'nt risk their reputation on a cheap copy.

Any chance I could copy this forums terms and conditions for my own.:D
    Only joking.

Seriously though I know of people that has posted on forums and lost their homes through legal costs alone. Sheffield Wednesday FC recenty took their own fans to High Court over posts made on a fans forum.

    This is a good forum.

I have no reason to be red faced, I post on this forum because there are many intelligent, helpfull people who give excellent advice, this is by far the best forum in the UK in my opinion. On the other hand I get riled easily and hate the fact people are keyboard hero's and haven't got the bottle to say things to my face.

Regarding the other post which was quite some time ago, I was given some wrong information and I now have a good working relationship with PICS. Certain information in the post is true and I stand by it, as much is by email to myself. As far as deleting it or not is up to you, but you seem to have made a big effort to dig up some dirt and try embarress me which has been unsuccessful.

Just for the record this has all happened because I have had success with Flex-c-ment, and rightly so has it has a proven history for over 25yrs unlike most of the other products which are relatively new and haven't been proven to date, I would relish any comparison trials.

Now that you have tried to have a dig at me are you happy

    Regarding defamation:

    1. Contact the publisher and politely ask them to remove the content in question, pointing out that it is potential defamation.

    2. If the publisher does not remove the content after notice has been given, they are accepting that they are legally liable for the publishing of the content

    3. This allows you to take the legal route against both the publisher and the individual in question

In practice, most web publishers will remove the content immediately, but if they do not, a solicitors legal should usually get it addressed as few will want to see it escalate.

Saying this as a publisher who has come up against this many times, not least from running multiple forums.
