Dangerous Goods transportation

Hello. We have encountered huge problems with the delivery of the Christmas Crackers. We have manufactured 80 CC and now we need to deliver them to another EU country, but it looks like nobody can do it or want over £750 for the job. These goods are classified as Dangerous Goods 1.4S, but as it is a single box weighing less than 5 kilos, then £750 is a bit too much, especially compared to the quotes from DPD, who would do this for £24 if the snaps would have been removed.

We've never dealt with dangerous goods before and it is quite difficult to google out suitable delivery companies, as it is not a popular service and most of them prohibit sending such goods. Could somebody please give us an advice, maybe a name of the company you had used before or at least shed some light on the average prices.

Any advice is much appreciated.

Is it because your one shipping box contains 80 cc or would it be the same with 1cc

I've seen cc sold online, so surely they get posted

Try tuffnells. We pay £20 for shipping our pyrotechnics, and I'm talking boxes of 1.4s and 1.4g.... Worth a shot

It would be the same with a single cracker. Some companies do accept them, but only if they are packed in the retail boxes, but price is still the same for all of the major companies who do deliver them.
It is not a problem to deliver within UK, but every online shop, even Tescos, displays that CC can be delivered only within UK.

Just gave them a call, the straight answer was "no, we don't deliver dangerous goods at all".
Do you tell them what is in the boxes?

Have you looked at Royal Mail? Their restrictions for international shipments say "Crackers can only be sent in their complete made-up form and in their original retail packaging."

I guess they may still be looking after 10 months, but I doubt it.

-Is it a residential or business address?
-What is the delivery date required? (Assume before xmas!)
