I have been reading up on the Cycle to Work scheme and many of the schemes available talk about vouchers and salary sacrifice.
Ready the actual gov guidance I don't see anywhere that it says you must rent the bike to the employer or engage in any salary sacrifice.
Potentially if I just wanted to purchase employees a bicycle and loan it too them without any salary sacrifice then can I do this? Claim back the VAT and offset it against Corporation tAx?
Obviously the bike would remain property of the company.
I presume then I could simply transfer ownership to the employee for the HMRC guidance rate after 4-5 years?
