Credit card terminal line not connected

Hoping someone can help me with this one. We have a card terminal which is plugged into a phone line. Has worked for several years. Now all of a sudden it has been disconnected - merchant provider say nothing to do with them, they only provide the lease to the terminal, phone provider say line
not on our account. Any ideas which one of them would be responsible?

As far as I am aware it is up to you to provide the phone line.

So the phone provider says the line is not on your account. Does that mean you have not been paying for that line?

I presume that the telephone line your card terminal is plugged into is rented by your business in which case dig out your last invoice and call the provider to report it as faulty, or if you are not paying for it, this could be why it has been disconnected...

It is nothing to do with your Merchant Services Provider, you are always responsible for providing the communications link to your card terminal not them.
