Courier for long items

Hi,

Iv just started stocking a new range of products which are thin aluminium strips for LED strip to sit in. Before I bought them from oversees I bought a batch from a UK supplier as I needed them for a job I was doing the following day so needed them quick. However im looking at starting to sell them to trade and public round the UK.

I'm having problems finding a courier that will carry them as they are 2m in length. The courier that delivered them to me from the UK supplier was FedEx. The courier that delivered them from oversees was FedEx, however I rang them and they told me the max size they would courier is 1m in length.

Does anyone on here also ship long items, if so who do you use.

I was planning on using postage tubes for the packaging, so the size would be 200x5cm wand weight would be about 4kg max

I thought UK Mail max size was 150cm. If they do then i would recomend you stay well away from them. Abosolutly the worst company i have ever dealt with. cost me lots of money and lost customers. NEVER USE them or Ipostparcels.

Interlink and DPD can handle large items but it has to go as freight so it might be expensive.

We use www.parcel2go.com who are a reseller for all of the major couriers - you put the details in and they give you a price. I'd have a look at them.
