Hi everyone

I'm thinking about setting up an online business selling the products listed below. Anyone know where I can get these products?

Wholesale prices of course.

Bare Escentuals, Models Prefer, MOP, Liz Earle, Elemis, Laura Geller, Philosophy, Leighton Denny, Nails Inc, Molton Brown, Smashbox, Ojon, Clientele, OPI, Gatineau, L'occitane, Decleor, Gale Hayman, Philip Kingsley, Tova, ProStrong.

It's just a small list :)

Would appreciate any help!
 
Have you tried contacting the actual brands themselves? Maybe try the website?

Normally if you can find the wholesaler for one - they might stock a few of the other brands.

Yep I've tried that, they only supply to businesses with a high street shop.

If they are saying that, then I imagine you are probably looking at getting it from a large reseller or a business who is not officially a distributor of their products.

In my 1 week interest into looking to supply hair straighteners I found some top names only sold through salons etc.

I don't know if Sallys would sell what you are looking for?

I know that there must be plenty of wholesalers around that supply them, its just finding them.

Tried Sally's, unfortunately they don't have any of the products I'm looking for.

There wouldnt be would there if they have told you they only sell products through high street shops?

If they were to sell only through wholesalers I'm sure they would have told you which ones? lol

I would reccommend visiting a trade show to get contact details or network, this is how many companies get their supplier contacts set up.

There are also a few wholesale directories online but I would be very careful about which ones you sign up for as some (if not most) contain out of date lists or simply fake details fluffed out amoungst a few genuine suppliers.

Sometimes an official supplier will say they will only supply to "brick and mortar" businesses because of the peceived risk or limited potential of supplying to a sole trader. This is born from the fact that many traditional wholesalers are still very old fashioned in the way they do business and often perceive an internet business as something less 'wholesome'.

Perhaps a genuine phone call (don't email - they are too busy and remember they are invariably old fashioned, this includes the way they communicate) to explain your business, establish trust and even arrange a face to face meeting will work like a charm.

Remember that wholesalers are in business for the same reasons as you, and just because you are a small business does not mean they dont want your money. They will always be interested in new buyers so don't be put off by initial comments or 'low barriers'.

Proactivity is the key. Sorry I couldn't give you specific suppliers though,

They don't just sell to high street shops, this is just the response I am getting at the moment. This makes sense, because if you were L'occitane and you were selling online you wouldn't give out your stock to too many other online businesses, especially if they were selling the same products at a cheaper rate.

Does it have to be the brands you stated or would you consider other branded cosmetics such as Clarins, Max Factor, L'Oreal, Revlon, Oil of Olay, Garnier, Maybelinne, Rimmel etc?? I know where you can get these from :D

This is one I came across about 2 years ago, never used them as went into a different line of business. If you pm me your email address I can send you a price list (it's last July's but it will give you a rough idea ;) )

I may regret this but I am aware of a company NJ surplus. (www.njsurplus.com) who sell high end cosmetics. They are based in US so watch out for import taxes etc, but theres one for you! hope it helps. ps they are a wholesale only company

i know of a few but the links are on my other pc

the problem you will find with cosmetic wholesalers is keeping an item in stock, you will find you wont be able to stock all the lines from one brand from a single retailor

i cant when i hook up the old pc im on a brand new pc

google was my friend when i was looking but im aiming for highstreet store later this year so no need for me to use them
