If you can only afford to get your keywords to top 10 within next few years.

MOZ as usually provides a bunch of theory without any evidence.

Its easy to say get great content, get x10 better content, but 99% of MOZ audience don't realize what is good content at all.

MOZ tools should not replace your ability to logical thinking.

And Moz has been wrong on a number of occasions. So treat everything that say with same scepticism that you apply to anything Matt Cutts tells you.

As mentioned in a recent thread, I had about a 50% success rate with the moving man method that was mentioned above. That there were no ads and nothing sold on the pages probably helped.

If you can write something authoritative and not just some old fluff that most blogs are stuffed with it is worth a pop.

Doing something like this seems to bee too much for most people though and the costs of outsourcing it to a capable outfit are high. I've suggested such methods as will be listed below to former clients, who have never undertaken them, but also probably can't afford to outsource.

My recommendations for £1,000-3,000 budget:

Get your site designed by a high-end designer (make sure its also usable) and submit it to the 100s (if not 1000+) web design galleries. So long as its a good design, this can be used to pick up about 250 links for the price of a design and a day of submitting. Example of a gallery: http://www.csswinner.com/

Accept Bitcoin and ETH. Submit your website you Bitcoin and ETH directories.

Contact related blogs for guest post opportunities.

This is enough to make a serious splash in a lot of niches and totally dominate most local search terms. Alone, point 2, which takes about 1 hour is usually enough to take top spot for local search.

Will you share some effective, proved by your own experience content writing strategies which are good for 2016?

Hi Sarah, I hope you're well.

I would be interested to ask what type of people you're intending to produce content for?

That should always be the first step - identifying who your target audience is and what issues they may be facing that your business could help with or cater for.

Understanding who they are should then provide you all you need to produce content that is relevant to them: RIGHT people, RIGHT message, RIGHT time, in the RIGHT place.

It's easy to create and publish content, but if no one's gonna share or link to your page/post, then all your efforts will be wasted.

The best practice is to do reverse engineering to generate content ideas. What we typically do at SharpRocket is to start looking for existing pages that had acquired high quality contextual links - a simple Google search for a keyword or using the search operator inurl: plus links.html+ topic to see if there are available linkable audiences in that particular sub-niche. This way, we can guarantee that once we publish the content, we can build links to it by manually reaching out to webmasters who have linked to a similar page (with hundreds of referring domains already).

The Rules -

1. Rule number one is never worry about SEO. Build a decent and informative website and SEO will take care of itself!

2. Care about you customers and inform them - and not just about your business, but about your industry in general. For example, if you are a printer, tell them how to create a CMYK PDF and which SW packages to use.

3. Avoid Flash, as search engines cannot 'see' into it.

4. Keep your website up to date and if you can, have a rolling industry news page or something similar that changes on a regular basis.

5. Give your website a logical name that contains the sort of search terms people will use. If you run a music school in Lincoln, call it the Lincoln Music School and name the website lincolnmusicschool and/or thelincolnmusicschool.

When shopping inside a brick-and-mortar store, a sales representative can provide a personalized experience. They can offer their expertise, point out features that will mean the most to you and even provide recommendations based on your lifestyle. Now, consumers are asking for a personalized experience online, as well. Offering or ratehr presenting personalized content isn’t as easy as hiring a sales rep.

However, there are numerous personalization trends that can help marketers. Your challenge for the remainder of 2015 is to fully understand them and decide what will make the biggest impact on your content marketing distribution and business goals.

If you think of programmatic marketing, there is something you need to know. It uses software and technology to automate and optimize the buying and placement of ads in real time. It will retarget—a type of cookie-based technology to follow buyers as they move from resource to resource. Other trends include proximity marketing (otherwise known as hyper geo tracking) and small screen or wearable marketing.

Don’t overlook efficient and impactful options like dynamic website content and personalized email (with proper segmentation strategy) for distribution. In fact, behaviourally triggered emails have a 152 percent higher open rate compared to traditional emails.

Here’s a great welcome email I received after signing up for a new service. Note the personalized subject line, too.

If that were the case adobe reader would not rank #1-2 for the term "click here", the main reason it got there is because so many people link with "click here" anchor. Links are the 1 thing that you can trump everything else with.
You also see that with a search for the term "download now" which has flash at #1, the pages have nothing to do with those terms but they still rank for them,
You can make a case for content and I know that the white hat approach we are all supposed to take but I dont buy it
