Commission only sales contract

I am a co-founder of a start up company. We are looking to take on a freelance Sales Consultant who is willing to take on commission only sales.
I would be grateful if anyone could advise me how to access a suitable contract (for casual work).

Are they going to be freelance? in which case they provide their contract. Or a casual worker? in which case you have to ensure that the commission they make means they get at least minimum wage for the hours worked.

A good sales consultant is unlikely to be interested. A poor one is unlikely to be much use.

Thank you for your reply. They would be freelance. I imagine it is quite a risk for sales consultants to be freelance. I'll have a rethink. thanks again.

What are you selling @Melanie_c?

Are they high ticket items, services or bulk products?

Is this online only?

Will they be selling b2b or b2c?

What rates of commission are you offering?

I am a psychotherapist and have developed a psychological digital programme to improve employee mental health and we also provide face to face groups for leaders. The programme would be for bulk sales (hopefully) we are targeting small to medium sized businesses. The sales will be b2b and we charge £90 per unit of the programme and £900 for each group. I would be offering 15% commission and a bonus if a target per month is reached. We also offer a free group of 30 min which would be used to convert cold leads to warm leads.

That’s a really hard sell. 15% isn’t going to attract anyone competent enough to get numbers.

To make a living they would need to sell tens of thousands every year. And that’s just not going to happen.

I'd usually suggest that you seek individuals or organisations who operate in a complimentary environment to add to their offering - though I can't see what that might be in this case.

It's possibly better suited to a telesales agency, as earnings per sale will be low.

I offer telemarketing as one of my services but I would never take on commission-only work. I don't know anybody in my line of work that would. Most work on a rate per hour

You may find if you take someone on a commission only basis (and these are very few and far between), they will drop you for a 'real' job, as soon as one comes up.
We have seen this a lot with new companies/start up's; difficult.
