Hi I have recently gone into business where I am constantly buying second hand used clothes..including boots etc.
The clothes that I buy are clean not torn , dirty or wet/smelly.
They all are of good quality some even have tags on..
My question is. Does anyone know of any factories.
Here in uk and abroad.
Who would be willing to buy in kgs/tonnes.
I have searched and searched.
But im having no luck.:|

Why would a factory want to buy second hand clothes? I believe most people who buy used clothes export them to countries in Eastern Europe or Africa where new clothes are relatively expensive.

Best solution is selling in undeveloped countries for example Eastern Europe. Chinese sell a lot of product there but your second hand clothes can be much more attractive than their goods.

I may be able to help you export to romania if you're interested. there's a second hand clothing shop right in my town, they sell UK and german exports. I personally have never been too keen on second hand clothes, mainly because in most of Europe new clothes are quite cheap. you may be more successful in eastern europe, particularly if you sell kids clothes. rents and overheads should be quite low. but unless you know someone in the country where you intend to export, I wouldn't even bother. I'm also hearing people who enter this business buy in TONS, which I find quite ridiculous. moving that much stock can be difficult and very costly. if you don't sell kids clothes and only target adults, selling a well known brand makes a huge difference. don't bother with Select, TK Max, Next, Forever 21, Ralf Lauren, noone over there has heard of them. rather Nike, Puma, Armani. anyway, I can make a few enquiries for you if you want. costs, rents, wherebouts you can base your business, etc.

At online, We can find out the various online stores for the latest goods especially for the clothing section. I haven't experienced with the any stores which sales the used clothing. I think, While comparing to that, It will be better to buy low price clothes.

Why not sell the clothes online? thinking the whole factory concept might not be as usable as you first think! Theres a new-ish site called bradley street i think, they basically get second hand branded clothes, sort through them, and post them on there website and they've even opened a few stores. Its basically a glammed up charity shop!

Sorry for asking, but is this a profitable business if you are going to sell used clothes locally? I don't think the market is that big when you're going to sell this within the country.
