Claimable Mileage Expenses

Hi All, after been on hold to HMRC for an hour (and been cut off twice) and hours trawling the internet I can't find a definitive answer on the following. I am a self-employed cleaner. I travel to between 2-5 different houses each day for work (different mix of houses each day/week). Can I claim for all mileage travelled or can I just claim for miles travelled between clients i.e not from home to my first client and not from my last client to home? It makes a huge difference to my NI I have to pay.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Even though, my say.. 15 clients are all permanent customers at permanent addresses? It's ok to claim all mileage as long as it's not one permanent place of work I travel to each day is that correct?

I never know exactly know how to read the definition?

Thanks so much

If they were all permanent workplaces then you wouldn't be able to claim for any travel. It sounds like you're looking at rules aimed at preventing contractors from claiming travel expenses for for commuting to a client's office they work from every day on a long-term contract.

Oh phew ha ha - I over-read everything.

You have made my day - Thank You so much. Got quite a lot of re-calculating to do now - but well worth it - it will save me a few hundred pounds - yay

Thanks again :-)
