Cheapest way to send Small Packets in UK

Hello All,

Im new here but am a regular researcher on this site so welcome some constructive advise.

We currently send our small packets (500-1000g) by a company called e-Parcels who use Royal Mail to send out packets. We pay about £1.60 per packet on average for 2nd class post.

As Xmas is here we want to use 1st class service which this company does not do and their service is diminishing so quickly.

Please does anyone know any agents or intermediaries who use Royal Mail that can be more competitive. We send about 300 parcels a week to the UK.

Want to send via RM but looking at 1st class service for under £2 really.

There is also Amazon Fulfilment which I was looking at yesterday. Might be worth a look though they seem to charge more for external merchants.

yes we do use FBA already but looking for our own postal items rather then fba as not all our items are sent to amazon. we have items which we send ourselves too.

You should try royal mail direct, packet post at 300 parcels a week should be well within their requirement.

Contact royal mail directly via their online business account service and have a look at their rates. You should be able to get a account and send parcels out via them

Agreed with the above. I think you need to be doing 5,000 packets a year for packet post, which is about 96 a week.

You do have to pay for them to collect the parcels from your premises , but you could drop them off at your local sorting office.

We do about 400 packets a week. and they collect from us each day.

But im looking for a service or company that is CHEAPER then RM.

any ideas?

RM are your best bet unless the new TNT service proves to be cheaper (which stilll uses RM unfortunately for delivery). You should be able to get to £1.50 on PPI for an average weight between 100-250 gms 1st class BUT bear in mind they are not covering missing items after Jan 2012 so 1 in 100 ish needs to be factored into your costings.

There isnt one.

We've been in mail order for 19 years and our average (small packet) parcel is 680-700g, NO ONE can beat RM for price on either first or second class post, you are wasting your time looking.

EDIT: Surely you are using a RM business account....I can send them through mine for a lot less than £2 each.....if you like we will send them for you....£1.99 each!

Interesting one that, do they get delivered by the UKMail own vans or are they forwarded to the Royal Mail for the "Last Mile" similar to UkMail's "I'Post" ?
