I have an extensive list of addresses on a spreadsheet which I'd like to send flyers to, promoting our business. Has anyone had an experience with this, or thoughts on what might be the most cost effective method. I know Royal Mail do the postcode flyer service, however these are nationwide addresses.

TIA.

Put them in envelopes and write the address on the outside. 50% might get opened. Half those might get read. And a tiny fraction of those kept for a day. The rest will go in the bin.

What are you promoting? What does your flyer offer that is likely to attract new business? Why is a flyer better for your business than online marketing?

I've used a mailing house called Stannp who offer this service - they give you the required format for data and do the rest (far less cost than mailing yourself)

@fisicx makes a valid point though, hand written envelopes have a far higher open rate than printed, and actual stamps attract more interest than Franks

You will get a different response to postal spam as you will to email spam.

If it is in an envelope and someone opens it, if well designed, you can still get a good reaction!

Use hybrid mail, where you 'print' your flyer to a company who then produces, packs and posts it to your address list. This is normally cheaper than the cost of the RM postage. I use Docmail for mailings and for invoices (using Kashflow) ViaPost.

Also, make the contents of the envelope personable and relevant. Mention the name of the person and company and give a specific instance of how you have improve their processes.

A flyer isn’t going to do this.

Once upon a time there used to be a free gift: mousemat, usb drive, pen, notepads etc. don’t know if these still work as nobody sends me anything ☹️

One local business sends out invites to the factory and lunch. Gets him loads of good leads.
