I would like to know which company offers the cheapest and best 0800 number to redirect to mobile for a business who is wanting to trial 0800 for incoming Sales calls only. I doubt many calls would come in, as 99% of Sales/Support is done via Live Chat/Email/Ticket System. Unlimited Calls redirect to Mobile for a flat monthly price would be better for peace of mind, but will consider others too.

    Best regards,
    Chris

    Hi,

Been using voipfone for something like this and I highly recommend them.

    voipfine.co.uk

I see them recommended a lot, but don't want to have to buy any equipment, which looking at their site it looks like you do. Where on their site does it offer the service I mentioned in my initial post?

    Thanks,
    Chris

Glad you said usually. Unfortunately, too many overcharge! I'll replace the word "cheapest and best" with "best value" then. I asked EE, and it is £10, but you need a business contract with them. I think I'd prefer 0800 so it will be free for potential customers to phone from their mobile. I'll look into it more.

    Thanks,
    Chris

I've kept out of this so far, for, well never mind ... But I can't avoid the Ring Central thing. Ring Central are an American company over here with a marketing arm. Please don't go there - use a UK company with a decent reputaion - there are several of us.

We can do this service quite easily and very reliably. But it's not the cheapest way of doing it as the economics of 08 numbers and diverts to mobile make it a nightmare for everyone, both technically and economically. For us, 0800 number costs £5 per month and have an inbound call charge of 2.5p per minute. If you want to then divert these inbound call out to a mobile it'll cost another 10p per minute.

On the technical side the outbound segment to the mobile creates a second call and introduces a delay so the calling party hears several seconds of post sending delay.

Basically, you've chosen a really difficult and expensive method of solving this problem.

But it's not really necaessary. People are ok calling standard landline numbers these days and they mostly have call packages that include them for 'free' so the finacial advantage of 0800 to them is no longer that obvious.

An 01 or 02 number is £2 per month. For a divert to a landline, that's 1p per minute.

But if you can answer the calls directly on a VoIP telephone, there's no charge and no delay.

Call us on 020 7043 5555 if you need to talk this through with people who know what they're doing.

btw, cheap is relative. All telephony these days is 'cheap'. It costs a fraction of what it used to do, to the extent that pricing differences between services are irrelevant and it's absolute cost can be ignored. What really matters now is service quality, routing control and flexibility. Long contracts and hidden charges are rife. The cost of telephony now is trivial, you need to look closely at what you need your service to do, not to shave small amounts off your small bill.
