Some of you may have read my old posts but here's a brief history.....
Bought another business around 2 years ago from 'friends' who we'd known for years.
We bought it from a husband and wife. In brief we got completely shafted. We paid 400k for the business. The wife worked for us following the end of the changeover period. We found out in this period that they were fiddling the petty cash. They'd also phoned our advertiser and removed our telephone number from the ads and replaced it with theirs. They didn't give us one of the phone numbers for the business. They started up in competition. They had their vans sign written to look like ours. The used our stationary to quote for work with organisations that only we could work for due to having to be CHAS and Constructionline Registered. They used copies of our insurance policies when quoting for work. They carried out the work under our name and invoiced it on our invoices but had the money paid into their bank account. They tried to split me and my wife up...........etc. there much more than this. They also created false accounts. He also sent me texts telling me he was going to ruin us and that he'd start with me, then my mother in-law, my wife......etc. I have texts to these effects still and also texts of him gloating when we wound up the business.
It turned out the couple were absolutely crazy.......they're manipulative, intimidating..........etc. Absolute scum.
We fell out with them and unfortunately had to wind up the business due to the recession and the actions they took to put us under.
Following this we fell out with them big time.........he went out and got drunk and came home and put his wife in hospital......they're now divorced.
He turned his attention onto us......started harassing us, following us, driving past the house many time a day shouting abuse at my staff, telling them he was going to kill me.....etc.
He frequents the place where my wife works as he's a member at the flying club there. He was harassing. She had him issued with a harassment warning. He told our friends and collegues he was going to have me done in......following the harrasment warning things went a little quieter. We then started receiving letters from Health and Safety saying we had been reported operating our cherry pickers with no harnesses......which wasn't true.......we then got a called from H & S saying we'd been reported for operating the cherry pickers without a current LOLA cert and insurance......this was not true and we sent copies to them. We then got reported to the council for operating a business from home......then had to employ a planning consultant which cost us a further 1k to negotiate with the council........it went on and on for approx 2 years.
We lost around 330k on the deal due to borrowing the money from family which HAS to be paid back.
Fortunately i have another business.......we've had to work very hard to up the size of the business so we can meet our now massively increased financial commitments.
We're doing well and have more money than ever. We moved house and business premisses and all went quiet for around 6 months.
The other day he turned up at our house with a couple of big men asking where 66k of assets were....we told them its nothing to do with them and to go away. My wife was shaking and crying after this meeting with him.
She has Addison's disease which is life threatening and it's well documented that people with Addison's cannot be subjected to stress. Since all this went on she is not the same person.....she's had counselling for it........she's been to the doctors with depression and stress and they prescribed anti depressants but she didn't take them. she was just getting back to normal when it all kicked off again. She's a nervous wreck and it's destroying our lives and her health.
Since then i've been contacted on Facebook by someone i've never met and it's obviously a fake account. It was a girl suggesting we meet up for sex. I told her thanks but no thanks. She still tried to get my mobile number......it's got to be him as the only person in her friends list is his son (who he's also threatening to have killed and trying to sue but that's another story). I spoke to his son and he said he'd had a very similar message from this 'fake' girl.
I have now had a friend contact me who frequents the flying club i go to and where my wife works saying that this man is going around telling everyone that we are being investigated for fraud and people should stay away from us. this is absolute rubbish and i have absolutely no fear of any investigations as everything i've done is well above board.
He's an absolute menace and this has been going on for years now and i need something done about it before i do something i could go to jail for.
What is the situation with suing for slander, deformation of character. Can we sue for the harm he has done to my wife health wise? Is it hard to win? Do people offer no win no fee on this kind of thing?
This guy has done time in jail and has a criminal record for what he has done to his own wife and it's still ongoing..........has has a bad name everywhere and i need something to be done about it!
Does anyone have any advice whatsoever as this is a nightmare!
