Is anyone a member of the Leeds Chamber and if so do you actually get anything out of it other than a lot of mail and invitiations to networking events?

This should be interesting because I've been considering joining for sometime but I wasnt sure whether the couple of hundred pound fee was worth it.

The Leeds one that is merged with the York and North Yorkshire chamber?

Depends on what you want to get out of it. I'm in Scarborough and since the merger have noticed it become very Leeds centric.

Mostly it is about networking which could work well for you. Although when I attend there is often a lot of lawyers and accountants (low level associates who have no buying power). Although if they talk to your kind of customers they can be worth getting to know.

Interestingly I've rejoined (I was a member for a year last year) and discovered that my account manager has left and been replaced. The quality of advice and the overall communication from my 'new' account handler is immeasurably better. I'd previously asked the odd question and just been advised to come and talk to people at events. This lady has given me some very solid advice and set up an introductory meeting with someone to help me further. I guess like a lot of things in life it's a person thing. Currently quietly impressed.
