Brimming with indignation, I have had to send the following letter to Russian state television, with a copy to the ambassador in London -
Ladies and Gentlemen,
I understand that two days ago one of your commentators on television said that the UK Foreign Secretary, Liz Truss was to be compared to a centaur and is half horse and half woman.
As a keen horseman and keeper of horses, I must point out that horses are beautiful, intelligent, elegant and loyal creatures. I, therefore, wish to object on their behalf to their being brought into association with Ms Truss.
I further do insist that an on-air apology by the commentator concerned be made to horses everywhere. I do realise that not every horse can maintain the highest standards of character and intelligence, but this is going too far!
