Business idea - B2B Polish sourcing

Hi, I’m thinking of setting up my own venture and just wanted to run my idea by people to see if it might be viable..

I have worked in digital marketing for a number of years and have a good grasp of SEO, content marketing, social media, and online promotion. I’m also a qualified translator (English / Polish) with good knowledge of the Polish market. I was therefore thinking of offering product / services / supplier sourcing in Poland to businesses in the UK, including market research and all forms of marketing communications (telephone enquiries, email translation, etc).

Is this something that might be of interest to people and if so, what might be the best way of describing the nature of my business in the most succinct way..? I don’t think it qualifies as ‘business broker’ as I would only act as an agent to put businesses in touch rather than participate in selling…

Also, what might be the best pricing strategy for my business? Should I charge per hour or per project perhaps?

All thoughts will be much appreciated! Many thanks in advance, Monika.

I personally think its a cracking idea, however it would require careful marketing and would have to be aimed at specific markets at least initially!

For example the trucking/ logistics/ haulage industry is now very much involved with Poland and would be potentially a good in for companies who may have developed some routes/ customers there but not be able to grow due to the language barrier.

I don't know much about the Polish ecommerce market, but as the 6th most populated country I assume this is growing rapidly and it may be easier to break into than the more developed markets e.g. Germany etc.

Finally I firmly believe that there are exporters who are actively looking to export to countries like Poland but find it harder to do so than the more traditional markets of Germany/ France/ Italy. Potentially you could look at working with UKTI who are on a heavy drive to push exporters - it might even be worth getting in touch on the below details:

Thank you so much for your thoughts and feedback, it's much appreciated! I also think this might be a good opportunity, thus will be exploring ways of how I could make this work. Thank you again for your input and contact details for UKTI! Best wishes, M.

I generally like the idea of having the opportunity to access foreign markets without the need to have full time staffing costs down to the need for specialised linguists. My main thought would, as above, be that you need to be clear on what areas you specialise. You would be fighting a tough battle if you specialise in logistics and are trying to sell chemicals.
